Nothing New Under the Sun

Osage City (Kansas) Free Press, May 7, 1881, in an article about a fire in a coal mine in Carbondale, Kansas, where eight miners and one child (helping his father work the mine), died.

  1. Why is it that we never learn from the events of the past? History keeps repeating itself.

    We keep making the same mistakes and having to deal with the consequences which are usually catastrophic.
